SEOUL, June 20 — Two more women came forward on Friday, accusing Korean star Park Yoo-chun of rape.
This brings the total number of potential victims who have lodged police reports against the 30-year-old JYJ member and actor to four.
Inquirer.net quoted Korean police as saying on Friday that one woman claimed that Park had raped her in the bathroom of a karaoke establishment in February 2015, while another alleged that he had raped her in the bathroom of his house in June 2014.
The new cases came on the heels of reports that another woman went to the police on June 10, accusing Park of sexually assaulting her earlier this month in the bathroom of a bar where she works, Inquirer.net added.
Although she eventually dropped the charges, police said they would continue to investigate the allegations.
Under Korean law, the accused can still face criminal charges even if a complaint has been withdrawn.
A second woman, meanwhile, told police that the first report had given her the courage to come forward with her claim that Park assaulted her on June 12 in a bathroom at a Gangnam bar where she worked.
Park is popular in Asian countries, especially in Japan and China.
Representatives from Park’s agency C-Jes Entertainment have stood by the boy band member, saying that they are ready to sue for defamation if the claims prove to be false.
