Ex-Spice Girl Mel B files for divorce after 10 years of marriage

LOS ANGELES, March 21 — Former Spice Girl Mel B has filed for divorce from husband Stephen Belafonte after 10 years of marriage.
Mail Online was among the first news organisations to break the news.
According to the report, the America’s Got Talent star cited “irreconcilable differences” In legal papers that were submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday.
She also requested “joint custody” in the filing. The couple have a five-year-old daughter Madison.
This is 41-year-old Mel’s second divorce, having split with Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar in 2000.
They have a daughter together, Phoenix Chi Gulzar, aged 18.
Mel also has a child, Angel, nine, with movie star Eddie Murphy.
Film producer Belafonte also has a daughter Giselle, now 13, from a previous relationship.
The couple have been plagued by rumours of a physically violent relationship throughout their 10-year union, most notably in 2014, after Mel appeared on The X Factor UK with bruises and scratches on her face and arms.
