LOS ANGELES, June 10 — The original and new cast of Ghostbusters recently united on Jimmy Kimmel Live and needless to say, they didn’t have to worry about calling anyone.
Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts shared their feelings about the Ghostbusters reboot with only female stars, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.
Murray also revealed why he finally decided be a part of the new film. “It was only because I knew these girls were funny,” he said.
“When you see the film, and you’ll delight in the film, it sort of rumbles along in the beginning. You’re going, ‘Oh God, are they going to pull this thing off?
“I felt like a stepfather to the whole thing. There is no quit in these girls. This is a tough movie to pull off, because it’s a big concept. There’s a lot on the plate — there’s a lot of expectation. Danny, and I and Annie and Ernie, were just screaming, cheering like we were at a sporting event at the end of it.”
Ghostbusters is set for release on July 22, but till then enjoy this clip of the cast grooving to the original theme song which was sung by Ray Parker Jr.
