PETALING JAYA, Feb 14 — Late singer Sharifah Aini’s luxury bungalow in PJS 52 here has been listed for RM8 million.
Sharifah was affectionately known as the National Songstress and was loved for her enduring hits such as Suasana Hari Raya and Seri Dewi Malam.
She died in 2014, aged 61 due to lung fibrosis.
The 20,000 sqft nine-bedroom and seven-bathroom property is currently listed on local real estate site Property Guru.
Described as a luxury bungalow in the heart of Petaling Jaya, the mansion boasts a master bedroom that comes with a hair salon, pantry, small living area and walk-in wardrobe.
On top of its impressive number of rooms and bathrooms, the property also features a library, function hall, five living areas, two kitchens, a barbecue area, a large fish pond and a maid’s room with a walk-in closet.
Location-wise, it is conveniently located near the Taman Jaya MRT, Amcorp Mall and Padang Timur MBPJ.
When Harian Metro visited the property yesterday, they met an unnamed man at the house who revealed that Sharifah’s son Aliff Omar Ali wants to sell the house as it was too big for his family.
“There is no other reason other than it's too big to be occupied, and it has been handed over to a real estate agent to be sold,” said the gentleman who wishes to remain anonymous.
Reporters from the daily tabloid were not able to meet Aliff.
“Sorry, the owner isn’t able to answer other questions but he’s able to cooperate if there’s any interest to buy the house,” the man said.
Earlier, the luxurious bungalow was advertised on Facebook where it was stated to belong to a popular singer.
Sharifah’s ex-husband Ali Bakar said he was unaware of the sale of the property and told Harian Metro he was not in touch with his ex-wife prior to her demise.
“It’s not appropriate for me to provide comments,” he said.
“After all, the sale of this house is a personal matter.”
He said Aliff also did not talk about the sale of the bungalow, and he did not want to elaborate.
