KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13 — Low-cost carrier AirAsia said some of its flights will be postponed today to allow necessary work on a runway at the KLIA2 airport.
The airline said it would inform affected customers via text message or email, but advised all its passengers to contact it for more information.
“AirAsia wishes to notify guests about the update received on operations at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Klia2) today.
“Runway 3 is temporarily withdrawn from operations by Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad to accommodate urgent maintenance work,” it said in a statement.
It did not state the nature of the repairs being conducted or the time frame for the remedial works.
AirAsia added that the other two runways remain in operation, but added that delays should be expected.
It additionally urged travellers to ensure their contact information with the airline was current, in order to receive timely notifications of any changes.
