KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 — Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) attempt to meet the deputy prime minister on short notice over the allegedly slow registration of the pact has been foiled by Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s travel plans.
PH chief secretary Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said they were told this after contacting Zahid’s office to arrange a meeting tomorrow over the Registrar of Societies’ (RoS) handling of the application
“We were informed that tomorrow Zahid is overseas and will be back on Thursday. So, we are asking for a date soonest for our top five (leaders) to see him,” Saifuddin told Malay Mail Online, referring to PH chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Lim Guan Eng and Mohamad Sabu.
He said that PH’s presidential council meeting will still take place tomorrow in Parliament at noon.
PH submitted its application to the RoS several months ago and was told to alter its logo before the application was accepted.
The Opposition coalition promptly edited the logo and submitted a new application.
However, the RoS has since said that PH’s application remains under consideration.
