Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced today that the rally will bring together several Islamic non-governmental groups, with Najib and Hadi both scheduled to make key addresses.

“The prime minister will deliver a speech, while (Hadi) will also deliver a speech. A third speech will be delivered by a NGO (non-governmental organisation) representative,” he said.

The rally will be held at the Putra Mosque here on December 22, between 2.30pm and 4pm.

“I urge all Malaysians and NGO leaders, will [sic] gather at the mosque for the rally, regardless of religion,” he said.

Zahid said that the rally will be organised by both Muslim and non-Muslim NGOs in the country.

This would mark the second rally which Najib and Hadi are headlining together.

Last year, both leaders attended a similar rally organised in solidarity with the ethnic Rohingyas who are fleeing Myanmar due to an outbreak of violence there.
